Challenges in Hydraulic Flow for Sunshine Water SoftenersProblem:
Problems with Swirl and surface/sub-surface vortices prompted SunshineWater Control District & Craig A. Smith Engineers to contract Clemson Engineering Hydraulics to build a Hydraulic Model to determine a solution.
Action:
Exhaustive testing determined four (4) 66-inch & four (4) 74-inch diameter floor cones will eliminate the flow disturbances and damage to the existing pumps.
Solution:
Flow Optimizers manufactures Vortex Suppression Baskets, Floor Cones, and Flow straightening Spools was 1st contracted to design these floor cones to allow public bidding for the manufacture. Several months later Flow Optimizers was informed that we won the order and we shipped eight cones on December 10, 2020.
